If the computer you use for your business sporadically shuts down, freezes or refuses to boot, you may worry that something is wrong with your ASUS motherboard. The motherboard connects the computer's various hardware components together, including the processor, RAM and video card. If you contact the ASUS technical support team for a repair or replacement, you will need to provide the serial number and model number of the motherboard. Even if your motherboard hasn't stopped working, identifying it will help you learn what upgrade parts to buy for your computer. By adding more RAM and processing power, you will get better performance and increased productivity for your business projects.
.Review the user's manual that shipped with your ASUS motherboard. The manual usually lists the model and serial number of the motherboard.
.Restart the computer and press the 'Pause/Break' key when 'ASUS xxxx ACPI BIOS Revision' appears on the screen. The model number is displayed.
.Look at the motherboard's packaging if available to determine the serial number. Locate a sticker on the exterior of the carton and make a note of the number that follows 'Serial No.'
.Windows 11 os iso download. Run a software application that will scan your hardware resources and identify the motherboard. Free programs include Belarc Advisor and CPU-Z.
.Open the computer case and look for the serial number and model number printed directly on the motherboard. On many ASUS motherboards, the model number is printed between the PCI slots.
.Look for the FCC number on the motherboard if you don't know the manufacturer's name. Not all motherboards have this number. If you find it, go to the FCC ID Search page (link in Resources). Search for the grantee code, or the first three characters of the FCC number, and the product code, which is the last three characters of the number. This will tell you the manufacturer of the motherboard.
